I droped my camera. Can I send it in to get a new one?
So, I got a Nikon camera for Christmas and I drooped it while taking a picture. It fell in such a way the lens broke. If I send it back can they fix it or replace it for me?
thanks!
Oh and by the way the type of camera I have is a Nikon cooplix s3000
Added (1). I always use the strap. My friend jumped out to scare me when I was taking a picture and it flew up and hit the ground.
Check for a warranty date
most likely yeah
They will be happy to fix it or send you a new one, but you will need to pay for the repairs or a new camera.
Next time use a wrist strap.
No, warranty only covers faults of the manufacturer. Since you dropped it, it was your fault, not theirs.
You might get it repaired, but that'll likely cost more than a new camera.
That is why camera manufacturers ALWAYS include a neck or wrist strap. It should be the first thing you put on a new camera and always use!
If your camera was purchased from some place like BestBuy it may have the "blacktie" warranty that MIGHT cover the damage you did.
I'm afraid not. It's like driving a brand new car out of the dealer and get into an accident and expect them to give you another one.
Warranty is for factory mistakes, not yours. Nope.
