I'm looking for a mid to high quality pocket camera any ideas?
I need opinions. I have a nikon cool pix 12mp 7x. I don't like the camera, i also have a sony cybershot, it won't hold a charge with 2 aa batteries.takes great pictures though. I want to know if anyone has any ideas on a olympus or a canon? Looking to spend around two hundred up to three hundred.
Added (1). Wow all interested answers I will research them all. My Nikon the picture quality is not great its blurry and it does not automatically adust to the background scens like I though it was going to. I don't eve want a camera that uses just double aa batteries.very low quality i spend more on the batteries than the camera
The Canon SX200 at 250usd is pretty much a good camera, it was one of the best before when it was still very expensive. I have already seen a picture made by it.

IF YOU WANT HIGH QUALITY IMAGES THEN SKIP THE SUPER ZOOMS! They have these huge lens that are so cramped you that they arnt very high quality! So for prosumer compacts like the s95 or the panaonic lumix lx5! The lx5 is the best compact camera hands down! It features very good photo quality, a fast F2.0-3.3, 24 - 90 mm wide angle Leica lens, hd video, lot of external controls, very fast af, and a very good auto mode! The down side though is that it is kind of expensive! Your other alternative would be the caon s95. The canon has worse auto focus, little worse iq, a narrower lens, and slower performence.pros include smaller body, cheaper, and more zoom.
buy the lx5 here for 420$( very very good deal)
