I'm Just wondering if you can use Sony, nikon or Canon lenses on any brand camera?

I'm wanting to upgrade my lenses on my Sony A230 dslr and eventually wanting to upgrade my camera maybe to a Nikon… Can you use different named lenses on different cameras?

NO
Not if you want to be able to auto-focus and use the cameras light meter.
You need to buy Nikkor lenses for Nikon and MInolta/Sony for Sony

Unfortunately, each manufacturer uses his own mount. That's why I have 15 lenses for 35mm cameras.
I only have 2 digital lenses because I only have one DSLR.
Changing like this is going to be very expensive, so you should think really hard about whether or not you need it. A Nikon won't do anything your present camera (or a more up-to-date model from the same manufacturer) won't do.
- Should i just get canon body and an adapter for nikon lenses? Or just choose nikon?
- Can you use a Sigma lens Canon mount on a Nikon body if you use an adapter?
- I just got this new dSLR camera for christmas, and I was wondering about help books?
- What kind of lenses can I use for d3000? If I use an adapter to use my fd lenses is it okay? If not why?
- Brand lenses (Nikkor/canon) vs off brand (Sigma/tamron/ECT)?
