I've downloaded what is needed for the computer the two disk cd disk one is just a manul and the other is a movie creation and photos I believe but everytime I connect my camera to the computer the computer doesn't recognized and doesn't show up in the photo stuff that the dc came with it. I know its easier to just put your memory stick into the computer but my computer doesn't have that extra slot.
i'm desperately in need of help i'm beyond frustrated.

You can buy a USB card reader very cheaply wherever you got your card(s) - that's the best way to transfer photos.

Yes, a USB adapter into which you put the camera's card and then use Explorer to find the DCIM file folder where the photos are is the easiest way.

If you want an easy photo editiing proram that's free get either:
irfranview. Or for a lot more control get Gimp.

You do not actually need any Nikon software (or any specialist software) in the computer to transfer files. The camera almost certainly has a USB small connector socket, probably a cable is supplied with the camera (if not then buy a "card reader" for about £10/$14, make sure it can read the type of card used in the camera). Many computers actually have a slot for "SD Cards", which is probably the one used in that camera, so no need to buy an external reader.

The camera or card will be "seen" by the computer simply as an external drive, like any other external drive. So just select all files in the camera and Copy and Paste to your computer.

Always back-up all of your computer files including pictures to another external drive, or cloud storage, etc.

Basic question: After you connect the camera, do you turn it on? As per page 79 of your manual.

You buy a memory card reader for your memory card, most likely a "SD" size. Plug the reader into an available USB port on the computer. A "box" or icon shows up on the desktop. Double click to open, then open the folder or folders until your picture files are found. USB cords that come with cameras are desgined to help increase the revenue of mental hospitals. Don't use those cords!
