How to photograph the milky way?
I have a Nikon camera I just don't have a wide angle lens or a tripod. Anyone have suggestions on articles I can read to learn how to shoot the Milky Way?
You'd need a tripod at the very least, for a longer exposure, and be well away from urban lighting.
What you really need is a wide-angle lens and a tripod. Any camera should do, as long as it's not a Nikon. Also, try looking at some articles on the subject. Hope this, er, helped.
Without a tripod, you're dead before you even start.
You'll want a wide-angle lens to get a lot of the night sky along with an interesting landscape which makes for a better composition and a more interesting image.
