I've seen a video of someone doing it on the 5100 but i can't figure out how to do it on my d600. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Your better bet is to take the photograph in full color and then use software, even if it's the basic editing software that comes with many Nikon cameras, to preform the selective color effect. Doing this via software gives you many times the level of control, and opens up whole new possibilities!

I would wager your camera doesn't have the effect… Just because the 5100 has it doesn't mean yours does.

Selective color VIDEO? I thought "color accent" photos were bad enough.

Thank your lucky stars if you can't do it. Instead, learn how to take GOOD quality video footage, and learn GOOD processing - "editing" - techniques.

Your end result will be a video that is a joy to watch.
