How much could I sell a faulty lens for (nikon)?

I have a Nikon 18-200mm vr lens which has been dropped, it had a lens hood on, and a uv filter at the time. So the glass is in fine condition. In fact the whole lens looks brand new. The vr still works fine and still takes perfect photos. The problem is with the auto focus. If focuses fine up to about 100mm then it starts to struggle. I sent it for assesment and they said the focus tube needs replacing?
I just want to sell it, but not sure how much for. The lens is worth about £550 brand new.

Nothing, zero. Nobody wants a useless lens. Send an email to camera repair people (not Nikon, but independent camera repair men and see if they will make you an offer for "parts".

Have you asked Nikon what it would cost to repair?

You will be replacing it with some kind of lens. The question is with is the most economical?

Selling the lens for parts may not provide you with enough money to buy another lens, maybe £25
