Has anyone here ever actually used the Nikon D7100?
If so, can i get your take on it please?
Actually I have, my daughter got one shortly after they first came out about 1 year ago. I did not spend a lot of time with it, but it takes great pictures. The quality similar to my D700 and it has the capability of a 2.0 crop factor, it addition to a 1.5 crop factor. I have used both 3 different lenses on it, and the all functioned as expected.
It is different than both my D90 and D700, but is more similar to the D90. I would not hesitate to trade my D90 in on one if I were in the mood for replacing it. It has better low light capabilities than the D90, but the D700 seems to be better.
I did not take time to play with the built in HDR, but all in all it is a really good camera. Sorry I do not have any pictures to share, as the ones that I took I left on her camera. If I did not have my D90, and I needed a DX-format camera, I would not hesitate to purchase on.
Since I already on Nikon lenses, I would stay with the Nikon line, but if you are looking to purchase a DSLR, find what fits your needs best. There are many good camera manufacturers out there, at this time I think Canon and Nikon are the best and offer the greatest choice of lenses, but there are a few catching up quickly.
Best wishes
