I live in a beautiful area and love photography, but would also like a camera to make Youtube videos with. I have looked at two; Canon PowerShot SX530 HS, and Canon Rebel EOS T5. Would prefer it to be 400 dollars or less. If not those two then what suggestions do you have? All answers are appreciated. 5 Stars to best answer.

The SX530 to the T5i is the equivalent of a golf cart to a Honda Accord. The image quality on the SX530 is just atrocious. The controls are not the same as a real DSLR and the range of shutter speed and aperture is also limited.
Sensor in the SX530 is super tiny, much like what you get in a cheap smartphone. The T5 has a relatively HUGE sensor with HUGE pixels.

I would highly recommend not getting a still camera for video unless you are fully aware of the limitations, complications and frustrations that come with using a still camera for video. If you're fine with not being able to record for more than 12 mintues, not being able to use the audio, not being able to use image stabilization during videos, then fine go ahead and get a DSLR. However, you just can't compare the ease of use of a real camcorder to any DSLR at any price.

If you're set on getting one device for both stills and video, do yourself a favor and make sure you check out Sony's A6000 and A7 line, along with Panasonic's GH and GX series. All have better video than Canon or Nikon both of which have become known for being outdated and outperformed by pocket cameras for video use. If priority is video, get a video camera. For that price you could probably get one with articulating LCD and external mic outlet. I would go with canon rebel t5, i have the canon t5i which i love cuz i can flip the screen and be able to look into the camera w/o having to worry about getting it adjusted right on me, not sure if the powershot can do that
