Will there be a Nikon update on DX format? - 1

I want to buy Nikon D7000, a great camera, but after hearing many roomers about new Nikon cameras i'm not sure anymore they say that soon (this year) Nikon will make 3 more cameras and all of them shall be upgrades to D7000 D300 and D700 and the best of them all will be the new D600 which will be the upgrade for D700 since they say that D800 isn't the D700 upgrade so shall i wait or not? The D600 will be a full format camera with more Mega-pixels and a new processor?

Well thank you all 3, i heard the rumors about D600 and D400 but as u all said i will probably buy D7000 cuz who know when will this one appear and many ppl say that they will stick to the D7000 and then wait the second camera after D600, the only thing is that i don't like D7000 for 16MP, i know that it isn't all in MP but it is nice to have them, you have ability to crop and have much more detail in landscape like D800 so it would be stupid if i just bought D7000 when the new one arrives even better for just a 400 dollars price difference and Nikon never says about its new cameras, why? Cuz older cameras are maybe not sold so to sell them all they don't talk about the new ones but i will probably but for d7000 and wait saome time after the new ones arrive so there price lowers.

It is an exciting time to be a Nikon DSLR owner or at least those in the market for one.

The D600 looks to be the next camera to be announced, and I have heard it is going to be an entry-level full-frame DSLR with a 24Mp sensor for around $1, 500.

Not sure yet - but it is also rumored that it might not have an in-camera focus motor, so like the other entry-level DSLRs, it will need to use AF-S lenses.

Of course, this is all speculation at this point, and the D7000 was rumored at one time to lack the in-camera motor as well, but we all know it was built with one. So hopefully if Nikon makes the D600 as a full frame camera, it will include the in-camera focus motor as many fine full-frame AF lenses are out there, and it would be a shame not to be able to use them.

And the other hot-rumor is the D400 to replace the D300s.

The thing is that we will just have to wait and see.

Buy the camera and enjoy taking photographs, by the time the D600 appears it will be at its maximum price at launch and then you will probably soon see an announcement of an even better camera soon to be launched and maybe wait for that… Eventually you will never buy a camera because soon a better one will appear. Besides the specs. For the D600 are only theoretical at the moment and you could have many months of photography ahead of you before its even launched if you buy a camera now. More mega-pixels just fill up your hard drive quicker and unless you often print huge poster size prints or crop tiny portions of the image they aren't of much use.

Yes it is true but the releasing date is not final yet and i think it will take some time.
