Why do people think that Nikon camera are ugly?
I'm talking about D1, D2, D3, D4 well mostly D1
The only people I have heard make comments about the pro grade DSLR cameras from Nikon or Canon are the ones who either want a "cute colorful" camera or they want a little pocket camera.
Own opinions
I know of no one who thinks any Nikon cameras are ugly. In fact their best looking ones are dslrs.
Nikon have a specific look. That look may be a little old fashioned, but the looks don't affect the ability to take great photographs!
Who says that?
So the professional models look big, daunting, black.yes it is because they are. It is in their functionality and their build and weather sealing that yes they are a bit big looking. And they are heavy!
Is that ugly? Nah. It is definitely not what most people who just want a camera want. But for professional there's little that can beat a well build, high functioning DSLR.
Is a hammer ugly?
These models are tools, they are not made to look great, they are made to perform and last. Ugly? Nah Functional!
In the same way you will respect the A10 also called Warthog, why? Because of all the guns and weapons it caries. You respect that thing! Same way you respect a big pro model DSLR in the top range. You know what it can do.
And yeah I get it, it doesn't comes in pink, what a shame. No it won't look good with your handbag. As pointed out for some people cameras are also beauty items. Oh my with that bag you need to use a blue camera. You so can't use the hot red one.
But who takes advice of those kind of people…
If someone lets me use a D1, D2, D3. D4.sure sounds great!
- Can you be non-telegenic (ugly on video) but good-looking in real life?
- Am I ugly or just not photogenic?
- Why are Canon users so cocky and think it's better than Nikon?
- Why don't you see nearly as many people using the Nikon D7000 for video over the Canon T2i?
- I just bought a Nikon 50mm f1.2 lens. I have heard/seen people say I will need an adapter for it, why and what adapter?
