What comes with a DSLR when you buy it?

I'm kind of new with the whole DSLR thing and I'm thinking of getting one for Christmas.
I'm thinking of buying a Nikon D300s. And I wanted to know:
Does this camera already come with a lense or is it just the camera without the lense on it?
Thanks
Added (1). EDIT - Thanks guys! So I'll just be sure to buy the lense separately.

Just the body. If you want a lens it will usually be included in the "kit".

The D300 does NOT come with a lens. The D3000 DOES (just making sure you didn't make a typo)
The only thing the D300 comes with is the camera body.

The body

It depends.
Some stores sell it as 'body only', in which case you'll get the camera body, body cap, eyepiece cap, strap, battery, manual, battery charger, USB cable, AV cable, CD.
Or it may come with a kit lens (18-55mm is common, or may be some other 'general purpose' lens) as well as the above.
Or some stores will do a 'package', so as well as the manufacturer's bits & pieces, and a lens, they may also throw in extra batteries, a memory card, lens cloths, bag, etc.etc.
- Where did you purchase your first DSLR Camera? Does it make a difference where you buy it?
- Which brand is better when it comes to DSLR cameras? Nikon or Canon?
- Explain if image stabilization on DSLR comes from body or individual lenses?
- On my Nikon D3400 when you try to take a video, a little mic with a line goes through it and when you get the finished product of you?
- What would you buy if you had $3000?
