Shutter Lag AF50mm on D100?
Old Nikkor AF-50mm mounted on D-100 with App Locked at F/22, in M mode even at high shutter speed of 350 n above, still the shutter lag is present making camera shake evident in pics. I'm relatively new to photography. I don't have this problem on the G or DX lenses.
I'm no expert but how old is it. Maybe the processor or whatever its called is getting older and lagging more.
If G and DX lenses (which are also G, by the way) work fine, then it would seem that the 50mm is the issue, not the camera.
Lag is normally the result of slow focus or not able to obtain focus lock. Put the camera on manual focus and shoot off a few frames. There should be no lag at all. If there's, the lens is going to be the problem. Also, you can check the aperture is closing like it is supposed to manually, and under control of the camera when you lock the ring.
A new 50mm f/1.8D is less than $150… You probably need a new lens.
