Should I wait for the Nikon D700 upgrade?

Since The D700 is already over 2 years I was wondering when an upgrade is supposed to come out!

I don't think this has been answered definitively by Nikon but rumors are projecting a D800 for next year. But the rumor mills are usually pretty much guesses at best, nothing to put much stock in.
My two cents: ask yourself would a D700 replacement do for you that the D700 doesn't do now? Is there a specific feature or features the current lineup lacks? Could new glass solve any problems you're experiencing (faster, sharper)? How about working on your skills?
Camera bodies are generally one-upped every 2-4 years, they're generally obsolete (comparatively speaking) every 5-7 years or so. Glass and most importantly, your skill set, will last you much longer and take you much further. Hope this helps!
