Should I sell my Panasonic Hmc150 and upgrade to Nikon D800?
I currently have a Panasonic HMC150 and wanted to know your opinion on upgrading to Nikon d800. I would mainly be shooting VFX videos.
It depends upon your goals.
I would probably just buy a nice 3-CCD video camera to shoot video.
While the D800 is an excellent camera for shooting landscapes or in the studio, time will tell if its new ability to shoot uncompressed video will become popular and produce quality video that is on par with a true video camera.
For recording video, you should buy an actual camcorder/video camera. Despite popular belief, DSLRs are not replacements for video cameras.
