My Nikon D200 camera photos come out grainy?
Is there a setting i need to have the camera on for the photos not to come out grainy? This is supposed to be a very good quality camera but the photos come out grainy
Really? Shooting at high ISOs will result in grainy pictures. Keep in mind your D200 is about 6 years old and does not perform as well as at high ISOs as modern cameras do.
For clarity, "grain" is an attribute of film.
What you are probably talking about is noise caused by shooting at high ISO settings.
Get out of any "auto modes" you may be in, including auto ISO and auto white balance. That is a start.
Secondly learn to use the cameras light meter in the manual mode shooting outdoors in bright sun with the ISO set to 200 and white balance set for sunny.
You have a lot to learn before you can blame the camera for your poor quality shots.
Here are some shots taken with the much older 6 mp, D100. Your D200 should out perform it by a long way.
Shoot under lots of light using the lowest ISO possible.
I get a lot of grain/noise even when shooting at an ISO of 100 with my D200. Not sure what I'm doing wrong
