If it's a quality, commercial grade camera body you are after you can find a D1 right in your price range. If it's the prestige of being able to tell people you have a D3, then, yes. You can go to the camera store and pay about 3000 pounds for a used D3.

You should be asking anywhen. In about 10 years time you'll be able to get a D3 for that kinda money.

Can't even touch a used D2 for that kind of money but you can get close on KEH.com. To buy a used D3 (not s) add a zero 1000 to 1500 pounds.
