How to put NIKON D800 files for Final Cut 7 editing?

I just used a converter to convert NIKON D800 files to video. The converter is not giving me the right video. I do not know how to edit them in Final Cut 7. What should I do?

What a minute.

First did you shoot the video using the uncompressed feature or H.264/MPEG-4 Advanced Video Coding?

That will make a difference when you export the files to your computer and use Final Cut 7.

You may have to contact Apple or upgrade to Final Cut X Pro

Or did you shoot a bunch of stills (sequential shots) in JEPG or RAW and now want to make them into a video?

Using a converter makes this question a little fuzzy. What file type did the converter change and to what new file type?

Yes, Nikon D800 recording Full HD 1080p MOV video at 30/25/24p which is perfect for viewing but not so good for editing. To edit recorded MOV footages in FCP 7, Apple Prores video is highly recommended because you can enjoy a smoother and faster editing process. Nikon D800 Video Converter released by Pavtube is a recommended tool to convert videos to MOV video with prores codec. In my experience, Prores LT option brings good quality video and it will save much HD space in your computer.

I think this step by step guide would help you a lot, it's regarding how to import camcorder video files to Final Cut Pro on Mac OS X, it's easy to understand and works pretty for my macbook.

You should firstly clear what video formats that Final Cut 7 can support. And then you can use a video converter to convert the videos to Final Cut 7 compatible videos. If you need a video converter, try this one - http://www.dvd-to-flash.com/video-converter-ultimate/.It may help you convert your videos to Final Cut 7 compatible videos. Anyhow, I hope you can find your own way to solve your problem as soon as possible.
