I looking for a flash bracket for a Nikon D300s. I want it for various on location event shoots. I'm looking for something that's good quality, fair priced and light weight. Personal experience with the product would be a plus. Recommendation?

If you're talking about side shades why not just make it from card board or something. If you're talking about a bracket for an on board flash, Nikon may have something available although I've never seen anything like that.

If you have one of the Nikon flash units then the best flash bracket would be the Nikon SK-6 Power Bracket - but it isn't cheap nor light weight. It requires 4 AA batteries and, with this additional power, can reduce recycle times by 1/2 and almost double the number of flashes. Its $319.95 at B&H - http://www.bhphotovideo.com

Note that additional accessories may be required - check the Nikon site.
If you do a Search for flash brackets at the B&H site you'll be rewarded with 5 pages of different makes and models of brackets to choose from.

I use a Stroboframe bracket with my D200 (without battery pack) that allows the camera to be flipped between portrait and landscape format under the flash. I've been quite pleased with it - it's quite sturdy, has a good solid grip, and it's easy to flip the camera between formats quickly, keeping the flash in the same position. You'll also need a flash cord to connect the flash to the camera - the Nikon SC-28 cord is very sturdy and will also allow you to hold the flash at a substantial distance away from the camera. Some of the third-party cords aren't able to extend as far, but will be adequate to use just with the bracket. I thought that would be enough at first, but wound up getting the Nikon cord anyway later because I needed the extra reach.
