Can anyone guide me to Nikon FX lenses?

I just bought a Nikon D700 with a 50mm f/1.8G from a guy, but I don't know what lenses I should pair up with it. I'm very familiar with my brother's Canon 5D Mark II and his 24-105 and 70-200 f4 IS so I'm very new to the Nikon system. Can you suggest good quality zooms just like the two canon lens for my nikon?

The Nikon 24-120mm f4 AF-S VR (not the older 3.5-5.6) could be a good choice. It looks like sharpness flops wide open at the longer focal lengths, but improves greatly stopped down to f5.6.

It would be nice if Nikon would come out with a 70-200mm f4 like Canon's but so far nothing like that has been announced. It is possible Tokina may be working on one.
