Camera comparison help? - 1

I'm a current Nikon user but have explored switching to a Canon, what are the Canon models that would closely compare to either the D700 or D300s.

Compare the D700 with the Canon 5D mark II.
For the D300 compare with the Canon 7D.

But the question is why do you want to switch?

I shoot Canon even though I don't like some of the way the Canon cameras work. But because of all the lenses/flashes I have changing would be quite expensive. Much more than just changing a body.
