Would a vivitar 7mm lens with my nikon d3100?

work with my nikon d3100? Mainly want this for videos

It theoretically should fit the camera, and it should be able to take stills on manual settings with no autofocus or metering. Whether the lack of any electronics in the lens prevents video, I don't know.
