Will this work auto focus for nikon d5000?

I bought a 50mm lens a while back for my camera but it doesn't do auto focus because of my camera type will this lens do the auto focus?

Nope. You need a lens that has "AF-S" in the name. They do make an AF-S 50mm f/1.4 lens, but it costs more. You might be just as happy with the much cheaper AF-S 50mm f/1.8 lens.
