Will Sandisk SD Memory Cards work with my new Nikon D3000?

I don't know much about memory cards, and I would like to know which cards are compatible with my new camera.

The brand of card doesn't matter. What you need to compare is capacity and speed of the cards. You could compare kodak versus sandisk 16GB cards. Both are the same in capacity, but may differ in speeds, which affect time between pictures being taken as well as viewing on the camera and also offloading them to your computer from the card.

For now, two or three 4 gb Class 4 SD cards will be plenty for your camera at this point.

If you look on page 167 of your user manual and you will see San Disk listed as an approved card.

In reality, any certified SD/SDHC memory card will work just fine in your camera. I use a lot of Kingston cards

Yes, of course they will! However with the ever changing world of memory cards. It is your responsibility to check your camera manual for the exact type or types of memory cards. I made a small slip of paper and keep it in my wallet, in case I seen a special deal on memory cards. Don't forget memory cards can and do wear out/fail, so it is a good idea to always have an extra one or two.

You might also check your cameras system for upgrades from the manufacture, by way of your computer! I did last month and found an upgrade so my camera will except a new memory card coming out in the future!
