Why won't my Nikon D5000 autofocus with my AF-S NIKKOR 55-200 Lens?
Why won't my Nikon D5000 autofocus with my AF-S NIKKOR 55-200 Lens?
Auto focus switch is off?
It's too dark to lock focus on anything?
The subject is too close to the lens?
Your contacts are dirty?
Does it try to focus? Does the aperture change in it? Do you get any errors with it? What are you trying to do that it won't focus? Besides just take a picture… Is the subject close to the lens or are you shooting in dark conditions?
What was said above…
There are two autofocus switches I believe. One on the camera and one on the lens. Make sure both are set correctly.
