Which SLR Camera should I pick?
I'm thinking about getting either a nikon d3000 or a Canon - EOS Digital Rebel XS 10.1-Megapixel which is better? And Why?
I own a Rebel XS. I've had mine for over a year and it's an excellent camera. But, I don't actually think there's a "better". These two (though I'm not a Nikon user) I'm told by those who have both that they're fairly equal.
That said understand one thing. If you've never used an dslr you've got some learning to do. No camera is a "magic bullet" and won't produce superior photos unless you learn how to properly operate it. What I'm really getting at is this. If you intend to shoot full auto all the time you'd might as well get a point and shoot. If you don't know how to really control the camera you'll not the best it can do.
They are both about the worst cameras on the market. Simple, outdated, just the basic set of features. Additionally he canon has just about the worst set of controls ever on a camera.
Save a bit more and get a nikon d3100
D3000 has no AF Motor so not all lenses will auto focus, and it has no Live View. The XS has both and is better.
