I have a D3000, doesn't do much of what I want it to but it was a gift. I want to get another NIkon, with a high ISO sensitivity, sevral focusing options, easy to use, and more importantly a built in auto-focus motor ( will allow me to use any af lens for Nikons).Im a professional photographer, looking for a very big upgrade. For all you fellow photographers, which do you use? I'm leaning towards D90?

Hi. I'm also a professional freelance photographer. The Nikon D3100 have a high ISO sensitivity but it doesn't have the built in motor so you should go with the Nikon D90. I owned a D90 few years ago and I loved it. You can also try the D300.It has a good ISO sensitivity and also have the buit in motor. I shoot with a D300 and a D7000 now, and I love both of them! Hope this helped!

Typically, the DSLRs that do not have internal focus motors are the entry level DSLRs; D40(s), D60, D3000, D3100, D3200, D5000, D5100, and D5200.

Virtually all other Nikon DSLRs do have in-camera focus motors; D2, D3(s, x), D4, D50, D70, D80, D90, D100, D200, D300(s), D600, D700, D800, D7000. D7100.

Interestingly enough, the D50 was the only entry level DSLR to have an in-camera focus motor.

D90 is two generations old now. It's a very good camera, but it suffers a bit in the ISO department. D7000 is the successor to the D90, and is very good. The D7100 is the current model, and EXTREMELY good at high ISO.
