Nikon SLR Cameras

Which is better option?

I got two options to buy my first DSLR. #1 is to buy Canon 60d with 18-200 lens. #2 is to buy Nikon d7000 with 18-105 lens. So which is better.regarding the price I can get d7000 from Canada as the same price for Canon 60d in US. So we can say the price is the same. So which one I have to add to the cart.

Though choice, it would help a lot if you could tell us what you want to use them for?
Video? Macro? Portraits? Wildlife? Scapes? Studio work?

The Nikon D7000 is a better camera for photography, and the 60D is better suited if you also wanna shoot video
Go here http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/Nikon_D7000/verdict.shtml, scroll 2/3 down and see the 'Compared to Canon 60D' part, if you wanna know much more

For a first DSLR i would suggest some else though, either the Nikon D5100 or the Canon 600D/T3i, and use the money saved to buy better lenses, that are sharper, brighter, tougher, because when you buy a DSLR you actually buy a lens collection, and good lenses will outlast several camera bodies (as you upgrade them over time, good lenses don't need to be upgraded)

Both of these cameras are really good and if you pair them with good lenses then that combination will result in much better images then a more expensive camera body with cheap lenses (like that weak 18-200mm you would get with the 60D)

I suggest you get the Canon 600D/T3i + 18-55mm lens kit and a couple of good lenses, like a 70-200mm f/4 or if you can afford it then the f/2.8 version and if you have even more money then the IS (image stabilization) versions, it's what all professional use (or wanna use)

The kit lens (18-55mm) should do for a while, but you can replace it with a couple of options, like a 17-50mm f/2.8 or a 16-35mm or just a nifty fifty ( a 50mm f/1.8 or f/1.4 or f/1.2)

It really depends on what you want to photograph, so your real question should be what lenses to get, but you can ask that after you get the camera body

Some of the features of Nikon D7000
--100% view finder!
--6 fps (7D is 8. However, I think this number is overhyped in most cases. Even shooting at 3 FPS will fill up you card with photos that look remarkably similar) 8+ is needed for professionals shooting professional sports. Not enthusiast shooting High School etc.
--16mp sensor (a marketing increase but still nice to allow some room for cropping)
--14 bit photos
--39 point auto focus sensors (19 cross point) this is a bit of a marketing thing but it is still nice and it does not matter about the 51 on D300s and above. Still very nice.
--2016 scene meter - compares against data base for WB setting and color settings
--Excellent battery life
--MD-11 Optional Battery Grip
--2 SD card slots for back up redundancy or double the card space! Outstanding
--Magnesium used to make camera stronger
