Which is a better SLR Camera? - 1

I'm deciding between a Nikon D3100, and a Canon EOS 550D.
so which one is better for fast continuous shooting? And which has better lenses i could get?
Added (1). I want to use it for sports, like go-karting, so i need one that would take a sharp shot of something that is moving quite fast.

This comes down to personal preference since they're so similar. I'd go with the Canon 550D just because I have one!

Actually if you want to compare oranges to oranges you need to compare the Canon 550D the Nikon D5100
Here is how their sensors compare

As you can see, the D5100 has better colour depth, dynamic range and low light (high ISO) performance
It also has a slightly better burst rate too.

Nikon's D3100 is the company's latest entry-level DSLR. Announced in August 2010, it's the successor the best-selling D3000 and makes several key upgrades to that model. Most notably the new D3100 now features Live View and video recording facilities - indeed it becomes the first Nikon DSLR (hotly followed by the D7000) to offer 1080p video recording in addition to 720p. To satisfy market demands, the resolution has also received boost from 10 to 14 Megapixels and there's a number of tweaks to the controls and ergonomics.
