Nikon SLR Cameras

Which camera/dslr/slr to get? Beginner here?

I'm completely UN-knowledgeable when it comes to DSLR/SLR or cameras of some sort, but I'm planning on getting a camera on christmas. Nikon or Canon are the top/most recommended ones, right? Okay so um one that's easy to use/easy to learn how to use. I'm not planning to be a photographer or something, just one to use with friends and yeah. Oh, and somehow affordable? Has to be around 25, 000-35, 00 Philippine pesos?

P.S.
I've heard little about the Nikon D40, D50, D80, Canon 550D and Canon 7D

I think the budget is £360 great british pounds, i still use a canon 20D which i got second hand for £170. My lenses range from £15-£100 but the higher end lenses go right into the thousands… I'm not an expert but for me it works well, long shutter speeds (8000th of a second to 30seconds plus Bulb mode). Iso 100 - 1600 which i think is average in being more or less sensitive to light, so i have used it for product photography, landscape, portrait, night shots, black and white, even light painting. (although only stills no video) i'm not a pro either but the next upgrade price range from that would maybe be the canon 40d which i think still sells at around £400, then the 50d at £550 so for the price range id recommend the canon 20d and the rest of your budget can go on tripod, external flash, lenses… And so on. Sorry i don't have any experience in sony or nikon or any other big names

If you do not know about cameras, buy some better compact camera - that is good for use with friends and yeah!

You might be best with a bridge camera…

fuji hs20 or canon sx30 or nikon p500…

DSLR's have exchangeable lenses that are expensive while the bridge cameras don't…
