I would only like to buy the lens. JUST the lens
It's the 18-55mm kit lens that comes with the Nikon D5100. And I can't find it anywhere

Screw the kit lens, look for the Tamron AF 17-50mm f/2.8 SP XR Di II LD Aspherical instead, you'll have a fix wider aperture of 2.8 and the image will be sharper than the kit lens.

Among the reputable online vendors that carry it, enter a search for nikon 18-55 vr and you should find it.
Amazon.co.uk should have it. They also carry the non-VR model.

You need to look for the DX AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm f3.5-5.6G VR. This is an example http://www.calumetphoto.co.uk/eng/product/nikon_af_s_dx_nikkor_18_55mm_f_3_5_5_6g_vr_lens/355-676a Calumet is a well reknowned international camera retailer.
