When i convert.nef high res photo file to jpg is that now a high res jpg file?

I'm shooting with a nikon d7000 in raw.new to the high res. I want to print out bigger photos. When i convert to.jpg do i keep the same high res?

Yes, it does.
"High" res is a relative term -- 2MP is more "high res" than 1MP, but neither can touch a 21MP image.
But yes, unless you resize the RAW image, the JPG you save will have your camera's full resolution.

Just convert to a jpg at 12 for the best results or even better yet a Tif file which is uncompressed. Many places will not print from a tif file so jpg is a good choice. When you convert just make it full sized.

But bear in mind that the best jpg is already compressed by a factor of 4:1. The only way to absolutely preserve the highest resolution of a RAW file is to save it in an uncompressed format, such as TIFF or PSD.

It depends on how you save the JPEG file. You can control compression and quality upon saving. Picture size? I guess it's the same. If you want to increase resolution, try increasing DPI.
