What would be a good, reasonably priced, travel lens for my nikon d3100?

I want it to be able to autofocus and should have a range of something like…

I use a Nikkor AF-S 18-200 mm and a AF-S 12-24 mm when I travel. If I could only take one, it would be the 18-200 mm lens

50mm prime

Personally I'm not a fan of superzoom. The Nikon 18-200mm is reasonable, however it's not as good quality as the 18-105mm.
If I were choosing a lens myself, I'd get the AF-S 35mm f1.8 DX.

18-135 is an often overlooked lens. Cheap as chips used. Tack Sharp but no vr. If you want vr then either the 18-200 or for the same price an 18-105 and a 35mm
