What expense can I expect to pay to repair CF slot on Nikon D70?
It appears that at least one of the pins in the CF slot of my D70 has been damaged or bent, not allowing the memory card to seat correctly. I realize the camera has become outdated and my question is this: Is the repair of my D70 potentially going to cost more than it would be worth to invest in a new DSLR? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
I'd suggest calling a local authorized Nikon service/repair dealer in your area and ask if the slot can be repaired or replaced. If it can be, ask for a rough estimate for the repair over the phone and if the price seems reasonable, take it it and ask they take a look at it but no repairs are authorized without calling you with a cost before hand. You may need to pay some bucks for their time though overall doing so potentially can save you from paying more dollars than you are willing.
I agree about calling Nikon for an estimate. 800-NIKON-UX
