What's a step up from the Nikon D3100?

I want a camera a TAD nicer than the D3100, that's what I currently have.

To sale more junk Naikon and make more money all this camera in not professional camera

In my view, the next step up would be the D90/D7000. While I suppose that the D5100 is technically the next step up, it is not enough of a step up to justify the expense of buying a new camera in my opinion.
The D90/D7000 gets you the ability to autofocus AF lenses, while the D5100, like the D3100 does not. Also, the D90/D7000 have remote commander capability for Nikon's Speedlight CLS system, where the D5100, like the D3100 does not.
Both D5100 and D3100 are Nikon's entry level DSLRs, so if you are making a jump up - the D90 or D7000 would be the next logical step.

Looks like the D5100 then the D90 then the D7000

The D5100. But you should buy a nice lens instead of buying a new camera!

Exactly what is it about the D3100 that you dislike?
I'm friends with professional photographers who use the D3100.
If I had that camera, I'd spend the 500 on 2 or 1 great lenses.
