What's a better camera than nikon d5000?

I was gonna get the nikon d5000, but it seems like everyone has this camera already, and i don't wanna down grade from it, so what's a better camera for me to get? Nikon's only though please.

Probably because that's an entry level camera with video. Everyone wants that when they're starting out. You could go up a class and go for a D90/D7000.
