What NIKON lens to buy next?
Hi, I'm thinking of buying a new lens for my Nikon D60. Any suggestions?
I already have the Nikon 18-55mm, Nikon 55-200mm, and the Nikon 35mm f/1.8G.
Depends what you want to do.
Fisheye 8-16mm
70-200mm f/2.8 VR
Zoom + portraits the best of the best
100mm f/2.8 Micro
For macro shots
etc etc.
depends what you want to do.
Yes, it depends on what you want to do. I think my next addition at the same point was a macro lens, but I needed it for work. You are also lacking in the longer range that I enjoy so much. If you buy the Nikon 28-300 VR, you might be able to leave that lens on your camera for a lot of sessions. You could also consider the 70-300 VR lens.
Look what 300mm would get you on the D60:
My camera is a D300, so we have the same "crop factor" and you'd get the same results.
I would personally suggest getting a Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens. I have a 50mm that's awesome and I love the depth-of-field. The photos come out really sharp, and the bokeh in the background can be beautiful (depending on what your background is). It's a great lens for portraits or taking photos of subjects where you want the background blurred.take a look at me photos
I have a D60 as well. I prefer to do more portrait and low-light work which requires wider apertures, so I went with the 35mm. It's a relatively cheap price considering the 50mm is quite a bit more, but I've worked with both.
I thoroughly enjoy the 35mm lens and use it whenever possible.
However, like everyone has stated, it really depends on what you plan to do with the lens.
