There's no "mode" for a group of people. The deciding factor in photography depends on the light available, not the number of people you are photographing.
Frame the people in the shot, and then use the camera's built in light meter to change the ISO, aperture, or shutter speed to get the correct exposure for the light available at the time. If you don't understand that, sell your DSLR and get a nice point and shoot… They have all kinds of modes…
