What lens shoud i use for my nikon D50?

Hi! I like really really want to be work for taking picture and all but one problem… My Nikon won't efing won't take dang pictures it it the lens? I'm using Nikon DX from 18-55 please please help

ANY Nikkor AF lens will work just fine on your old D50.

Did you buy this camera used? Did it work when examined it before buying it?

My guess is this may be your first fully adjustable camera and do not have very many skills using one

Nikon DSLR bodies (D50, D70, D70s, D80, D100, D200, D300, D300s, D7000, D700, D2x, D3, D3s) have built in motors.

So you can use All DX Lenses
and FX format AF and AF-S Lenses

Cursing the camera and lens didn't help did it? Take off the lens and clean the electronic contact points on both lens and camera then try again. If it still doesn't work, bring the camera and lens back to the store you bought it from and ask for service. If you can't go back to the store it was bought from (I know it's old), go to the nearest authorized Nikon service center.
