What equipment do I need to be able to take professional photos?
I have a photo shoot planned for somebody. I have a Nikon D60. If anyone knows of anything else I should have to improve the photos such as lenses, diffusers, ect. I'd like the info.
A flash (off camera), along with a diffuser, a trigger for the flash (hot shoe mounted) as well as a receiver, a light stand, a bracket for the flash and diffuser, and a back drop should be good.
Depends on what you want to do. A natural looking outdoor shoot can be done with just a normal fast lens and a single reflector. If you're going to do something like a studio then 2 light sources are minimal.
Get a tripod. I can take very clear pictures with a little Sony Cybershot just by holding the camera as close to perfectly still as I can.
A REAL film camera, a good quality flash, and a good eye and timing.
That's it.
And a D60 isn't it. That's an amateur camera, and it's digital. A professional uses film. Period.
In order to take "professional" photos, you need enough knowledge of the craft to answer this question for yourself. You can have the most expensive equipment in the world and still take lousy pictures if you don't know what you are doing.
Sorry to say, if you're asking this question, then the most important piece of professional equipment needed is the photographer. You can pack your car with all the necessary equipment. If you don't know how to use it, you may as well leave it in the store.
By "professional photos" I assume you are actually meaning good pictures.
For that you need knowledge, skill and experience.
Hope you have the 2-5 years it will take you to get all that before your shoot.
Dart, I can't say what I want about your post because it would probably be against the rules.
Suffice to say, many many, in fact these days that is most, professionals use digital. Maybe you should come out of your 70's bubble.
