What DSLR camera lenses is best for insects?

any help is most appreciated

You need a macro lens - I believe Nikon calls them "micro" lenses.
Just go to the Nikon website and have a look at their lenses there, then start shopping via google.

The Nikon 105mm f2.8 macro lens or if budget is limited, the SIgma 105mm f2.8 macro (which is a tack sharp lens).
The 105mm focal length will allow you to back off a bit from the insect & help to avoid 'spooking' them.
And yes, Selina is quite correct so the thumbs down is inappropriate.
