Nikon SLR Cameras

What does it mean when you are buying a Nikon camera and it says Body Only?

I'm interested in buying a Nikon camera, probably the Nikon D5100. I found a good deal and it says it comes with body only. Does that mean it comes with no lenses? If so does that mean I wouldn't be able to take pictures without a lense? Sorry I'm a beginner and I would appreciate if someone could explain this!

It means that you do not get any of the lenses. You will have to buy your lenses individually

It means there's no lens included. You can't use it unless you have a lens. If you're a beginner, you should just buy a camera that includes a lens, so that you don't have to worry about buying the right lens to fit your camera. More expensive cameras have interchangeable lenses; less expensive ones don't (the lens can't be removed or changed).

It means that it is only the frame of the camera and their is no lenses. You can't take a picture without the lenses, the lenses is the most important part of the camera. You would have to buy it separately.
I have searched and found the exact camera for you, this one is a complete camera and can be used upon purchase, it has a lenses and comes with a number of other accessories that are used with the camera. Check out this link >>> http://amzn.to/....to/S9ofL9

Yes, 'body only' does mean getting the actual camera only, without any lenses. And no, you can't take photos without a lens. You can buy an individual lens, but you'll have to find a lens that suits your needs and budget, and it may not be very easy to do.

Body Only does mean just the body and no lens. Actually I personally believe it's better that way. I would also make sure the body comes with a strap and as many of the original stuff as possible.
