That camera does MOV files, right? You can convert MOV to AVI (using something like SUPER), which is something that Windows Live Movie Maker does allow you to edit. Otherwise, you can buy QuickTime Pro from Apple, which costs $30 (and is available for Windows 7, not just Mac) or something like Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD (which is something like $50, but much better than QuickTime).

Send Jim A an email and ask him what video editing program he recommends. It is not "free", but it costs less than $100 and may be user friendly for you.

Why specifically can't you use Windows Movie Maker?

Thanks for the plug David - this is Jimmy A.

I use an NCH program called Video Pad. This is an Australian company that produces pretty good software. This particular program, in the pro version, is about $100 US.

I do quite a bit of video both fun and volunteer work like this.

I shoot with a Rebel t1i and the edit program also does slow motion which is part of what you'll see in this video.

There are no free video editing programs that I know of. These programs are expensive to create so they're expensive to buy but really $100 is much when you consider what you're getting.

I suggest the AVS Video Editor
