What Camera Is Best For Me?

I'm looking to buy a camera in the $500-$600 range. I will specialize in sports photography and later on I will be buying an underwater housing for the camera. I don't want a camera the size of a business card either. My friend recommended the nikon D3100. Help would be appreciated.

Added (1). If possible, could you include if there isa water housing that you can buy with the model of camera.
