Leah Nicole,

Here are some basic accessories that I'd suggest you start with - you can always build from these as you go:

1- Extra battery
2- Extra memory card(s)
3- Tripod
4- Flash diffuser (to soften your on-camera flash - especially good if doing macro or portrait work to avoid the harsh lite an on-camera flash generates)
5- When you want to spend more than #4, get an external flash that sits on the camera's hotshoe.

Other accessories would be dependent on what you're mostly shooting. For instance, if you're doing a lot of portrait work then you may want a reflector, or light meter, or X-Rite Color Passport. For macro work it would help to have a white photography umbrella, possibly a lightbox (for shooting objects like flowers indoors), and macro lens. You get the idea. It will vary. So I'll start you out with #1-5 above as the most affordable and best all around starter set.

What you need as a beginner:

1.a single memory card
2.a rocket blower
3.a microfiber cloth
4.a protective bag of some sort to store and transport the camera in.

Now, stuff like extra batteries, diffusors, tripods and whatnot, it's all very fine if you know where you want to go with your photography.

The most important accessory in addition to the 4 necessities mentioned above is a good photography for beginners book or dvd.
