A) everyday stuff, about equivalent 10 a 3x optical zoom camera
b) fairly average zoom lens, can be used for anything that needs more zoom than the 18-55 and will probably be a bit heavier
c)lowest zoom, used for getting as much of the picture in as possible, e.g.: landscapes or could be used by estate agents for taking pictures of rooms in houses
d) the Nikon d5100 is a good camera, 4 frames per second, 16 mega pixels and full 1080p video, this kind of camera would probably appeal to a semi-professional photographer as it has a much higher price tag of around £550 so amateur photographers or first time buyers would be put off.
Those are generally used for taking photos. Seriously though, if you don't know stuff this simple you don't need a DSLR.
- 18-55mm is a Kit lense it is used when you got nothing else to use.
- 18-200 is a general purpose zoom lense. It means you don't know what you will be taking picture of. This is very popular for average comsumer because they don't know what's ahead to shoot. There's no need for 18-55 if you have this lense.
- 10-24mm is an Super wide. Most people use this for landscape & architecture.
Nikon D5100 is a great camera. It is for beginner with $ to spare.
