What are some cool effects a Nikon D50 can do?

I'm new to my Nikon D50, and I'm new to photography somewhat. I'd like to know some combination's of settings on the camera to create different looks to the photos. Different ways to filter the light.

Not much. I've shot a D50 for years but I've always done things like that on the computer. It's a capable little camera still, very good up until iso 800 and an acceptable 1600.

Being a dslr it's not designed for "cool effects". This is a camera for serious photographers who know how to properly control it for best results.
