Start by reading your manual that came with the camera. Then, look up websites like youtube for topics like: photo composition, Camera exposure, Shutter speed, aperture, camera lenses, etc.

Go to youtube, search for DSLR photography, then you can further refine your result by typing in your camera's model nr. There are some good ones.

Why did you buy yourself a D3100 in the first place? Learn the basics of photography with something less advanced first and then not spending a fortune on a camera that will need more lenses and cause other problems…
