Used Nikon D40x price w/ 18-55mm and 18-200mm lens?
How much would a 2 and a 1/2 year old nikon D40x cost?
it comes with:
-a camera bag
-manual
-2 SD cards (2GB & 8MB)
-battery & charger
the person wants $320 for camera and 18-55mm lens, and $150 for 15-200mm lens
how much should i offer?
While the D40x is a nice camera yes lets be fair with DSLR it is the GLASS the retains value and the BODY that is the work horse that loses value very quickly.
The body is a work horse, it simply is there to do a thing, newer models comes its value drops. Time goes on and it gets used value drops
Even though I'm sure it is still a pretty nice body lets be fair $320. For a bit more you can buy a new body with all the advances you can hope for. The 18-55 you can finds in any kit with any new body pretty much. So don't worry about that one. Really $320 sounds still a bit much for that.
The 18-200 that is a nicer one and not one in any kit. But you can look at the shops and find that lens and its new value. Maybe again it isn't worth it.
I feel this person asks a bit to much. But that is the game you can always offer to pay less. I think for a D40x with the kit lens. Taking in its use. Maybe $275.
To be fair though. If you buy a NEW DSLR you get the 18-55 with it pretty much. $325 just feels to high.
