Teleconverter for Nikon D3100 + AF-S 55-300mm VR lens?

I have recently bought a Nikon D3100 with 18-55mm & 55-300mm VR lens. I would like to know whether is it possible to power up the zoom factor of 55-300mm lens by adding a teleconverter. Please suggest me from Nikon or other brands that is compatible with my gear.

Added (1). Hi Jeroen Wijnands,

Thanks for your response. In that case, I searched in Amazon and found this link (http://www.amazon.com/TeleConverter-Nikon-D300s-Digital-Camera/dp/B0042HA6CY/

Can you advise whether this would suit my existing 55-300mm nikon lens with D3100?

Added (2). Hi Roh R,
Thanks for your inputs, as you see the Nikon AF-S DX 55-300mm VR lens I have is f/4.5-5.6G ED. So as you have mentioned that the f-stop should be 4 or wider. So, in that case will my 55-300 will work with the 2x teleconverter?

Nikon will not fit. A kenkoo will probably fit. However, you will no longer have much in the way of autofocussing anymore.

2x TeleConverter for Nikon D300s D3100 Digital Camera

This light-weight Phoenix 2X Autofocus Teleconverter attaches directly to any Nikon Autofocus Mount body and will double the focal length of the primary lens being used. If you have a standard 50mm lens on the camera, this makes it a 100mm lens. If you use it together with a 70-300mm zoom lens, it becomes a 140-600mm zoom lens. It functions perfectly with the autofocus mechanisms of your camera as long as the maximum aperture on the primary lens is f4 or wider. If the aperture is slower, the in-focus lights will work but focusing must be done manually.
